Reminiscing about 2009 almost looks unreal. 2009 marked my "golden year" since, my 22nd birthday landed on December 22, which is my birthday. It started out shaky with my departure from my home church of 21 years, and landing at Calvary Chapel, which was the best but most challenging decision I made to start off the new year. Then things picked back up by the grace of God with me landing an externship at the California Wildlife Center in Malibu under the guidance of Dr. Tom. Which was beyond exciting and challenging at the same time. I cruised through spring and landed in summer. With the kick off of summer, I went to my first real rock concert, KROQ's Weenie Roast. Where I thankfully got to enjoy it from the VIP section, where I watched old favorites Weezer and Jimmy Eat World and enjoyed a new favorite Kings of Leon. Then it was summer once I finished my last final and headed my way to vacation. Which I spent almost a month over on the east coast traveling by train from New York -> Maryland -> Washington D.C. Navigating fashion parties in Manhattan with my fashion stylist cousin. Watching my first Broadway show on Broadway (I've watched Beauty and the Beast and Lion King here in LA) which happened to be Wicked, one that I had been obsessed with since the show came out in 2004, dreaming and singing of the day I would be able to see it. Seeing my oldest cousin get married in Baltimore, the first in the family, to a great guy. Enjoying the nation's capitol and all it has to offer, including tracing steps of Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. Went to go see the legendary Jonathan Larson musical Rent, which has been a dream since middle school, which had two of the original cast members, Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal, which was an extra treat! Went trick or treating at Disney's California Adventure, with new friends. Skyped for the first time which a long time friend in Korea. Attended my first hockey game, with the Mighty Ducks playing, which they lost, but I still love the movie! Went to a charity concert, House Full of Toys, a Stevie Wonder charity, which featured Robin Thicke and the Jonas Brothers, that was beyond exciting! Got a personal trainer to whip me into shape for the new year.
Looking back, I had a blessed year, truly one never to be forgotten. I had such an amazing time in 2009, I'm looking forward to see what God has in store for me in the 2010!
So Happy New Years to you and let's share a happy and healthy 2010 together!
